Marc Kamhi & the Shot Glass Philosophers – “Hanging with Jack” Winter Solstice Show!

Since it does not happen to often these days, we wanted to give you a early heads up. Join us on Saturday, December 21st at 9 PM when we return to Pianos to close out the year, and celebrating the 1st anniversary of Sacha saving the world from the Mayan apocalypse! This will be a full band show, with our newest member, Mike Sigismondi on the drums.

You can join the fun on Facebook by going here: Marc Kamhi Music on Facebook

Aside from a fundraiser here & there, we don’t get a chance to play much these days, so please join us as we rock the house again at  PIANOS. As always it will be a kick-ass, whiskey fueled night that you won’t want to miss! Join us for a drink (or 4), and celebrate the solstice with us in style.

If the Stones & The WHO can come back, why can’t I???

After more the a 7 month break from live performances, I am returning to the venue that I call home! Painos is the first spot I played at when I moved back to NYC. I fell in love with their awesome vibe, and held the release party for my EP “Breakdown” there this past March. (Big thank you to everyone who came!) It is only fitting that I close out 2012 where it all began! There is a $10 cover for the evening and the show starts promptly at 8PM.

More importantly, a portion off all ticket sales will go to support the Matthew Nierenberg “Heart of Gold” scholarship. Right now, this is a one night only event, and I don’t know what the future holds for me performance wise, so I’d love to see everyone there. I’ll have CD’s for anyone that is interested, we can “Hang with Jack”, have some fun, and make a difference in a deserving students life. So I ask you, one more time,
“Won’t you please breakdown with me?”
See you there!

Update & Upcoming Shows

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been a while, so I just wanted to touch base, and let you know what is going on in the Land of Marc Kamhi. Next Saturday, I will be returning to on of my favorite spots, Bar On A, located on the corner of Ave A & E 11st street in the East Village. If you have been to one of my gigs there, you know it’s a great time. Mitch, Anne, and the team there know how to take care of you behind the bar, while I get it done behind the Mic. It’s an all Marc show, and I’ll be playing for at least 2 hours, and if you haven’t gotten it yet, come down & get your hands on a copy of Breakdown! This will be my last April gig, as life is getting a little busy, so please come on down.

You can join the fun on Facebook by going here:

I also have a very special appearance coming up on Thursday, May 10th. I will be performing a quick 4-5 song set at Roller Jam in Staten Island for the Annual The Matthew Nierenberg Annual “Heart of Gold” Fundraiser. This event honors the memory of a dear friend’s brother, and assures that his memory lives on by making a collage education available to a local high school student. It is an awesome night with a lot going on, so I highly recommend that you make it down. The event is $20, and all proceeds go to the scholarship.

So…I’ve Been Reviewed….

Well it was bound to happen. Someone would listen to my music, and share their thoughts with the world. What I did not expect was that they would like it! Liz Gold from decided to review my upcoming acoustic EP, “Breakdown”, and she had good things to say. In fact, she said “I’ve been listening to Kamhi’s

“Breakdown” EP – five songs of “life, loss, pain, rebirth and redemption” and have every so often been blessed with a chuckle. I can’t help it, a pure, uninhibited laugh comes from my belly – not because of his pain, but because it makes me realize (again) pain is universal and heavy and sad and yes, fucking funny. And this guy somehow makes me happy to be alive.”

You can click here to read the entice review:

Also, in case you forgot, the CD comes out on March 2nd. I am having a release party at Pianos (voted the 2nd best place in the country to check out live music) on the same day. It’s $10 at the door, and everyone that comes, gets a free copy of “Breakdown”, and other goodies to commemorate the evening. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there, and I am promising an amazing time!
